RACE LEADER'S JERSEY
The race leader is determined as the rider with the least amount of elapsed time over the entire race. Because the overall winner is based on lowest cumulative time (general classification) at the end of each day, it is possible for a rider to become the race leader with out winning a daily stage. The USA Pro Challenge maintains tradition with the coloring of the race leader’s jersey but draws from the flag of other classic racing sports by transforming the jersey into a checkered yellow print.
SPRINTER'S JERSEY
The sprinters jersey is awarded to the rider that accumulates the most bonus points, which are given based on mid-stage sprint line performances as well as finishing the stage in the top-15 places. Riders who specialize in bursts of power and speed, or who consistently finish near the top of each stage, will have the best chance to wear this respected green jersey. For a twist on the traditional green used for the points leader, this jersey is streamlined with stripes, symbolic of the speed and power required of sprinters.
QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN JERSEY
The USA Pro Challenge features the most demanding mountain terrain in professional cycling, reaching heights of more than two miles in elevation. The cyclist who proves to be the strongest climber through steep grades at designated Queen of the Mountains (QOM) locations will collect points towards earning the coveted climbers jersey. The USA Pro Challenge version of the QOM jersey is a modern twist of the classic polka dot jersey worn by the best climbers of the Tour de France.
BEST YOUNG RIDER JERSEY
The 2015 USA Pro Challenge will host a plethora of young talent from around the globe. These up-and-comers will compete for the distinction of wearing the Best Young Rider jersey, which will be awarded to the rider under 23 years of age that has the least amount of elapsed time (highest general classification) over the entire race.
MOST COURAGEOUS RIDER JERSEY
Each stage of the competition will present countless obstacles for these cyclists. The rider who best asserts herself in the peloton and tackles the challenges of the day will be awarded the Most Courageous Rider jersey.
